A model of the world in which every person has an inner judge: it evaluates actions regardless of whether anyone sees them. The source of moral evaluations is within the person themselves, and not only in laws and the opinions of others.
Main provisions: (1) an action is evaluated twice — by society and by the person themselves; (2) the second evaluation is more reliable because it cannot be deceived; (3) conscience can be cultivated and can be suppressed; (4) a clear conscience is a condition for inner freedom.
The model well explains why people return found money when no one is looking, and why they suffer after a small deception.
